The fluffiest trap of witching

Everybody knows that in Dystopia there is not much trust left in the world, but only witches know just how little it actually is.
In a world in which years go by without summer to come, where bodies fail and transform in ways the mind can‘t grasp, there is one thing witches have left to surprise each and everyone of us.
This one might break your heart more than everything else they have done to the world. This one is worse than the sun getting lost, and your blood turning black.
This one is about the cat on your lab, the dog next to you, or the cattle next to your house.

This is one is about your pet, and how witches can make use of it.

Because witches can abuse your trust, your weak and weeping heart that yearns to love and yearns to give. Witches know how to capture it. They know how to paint the world in an illusion you simply can‘t withstand.

So, whenever witches need to get rid of someone, they remember this. It might be a lover fallen out of grace. It might be a wizard they were jealous of, or even a priest that understood their dirty business.
It might be anyone.
Witches might present you anyone. Their most disgusting enemy, or the most helpless child they stole in vein.
And all you see is a lovely animal to feed and pet. You love and care, and feel a warmth expand within you, almost as if life was good.
You pet and kiss an old and hairy wizard, disguised as a cat.
You feed carry a baby missed in the next village, disguised as a dog dribbling on your shoulder.
You feel needed, it feels good.
Remember, it‘s never real.
But what is a heart without abuse?

But Daddy allows them to make you think it is.
So, you better go and feed and pet whoever they’ve brought to you, or you might be next.
